Baramulla, Dec 28 (KNO): Following massive snowfall across Kashmir’s plains , the administration in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday announced that major roads have been cleared and are operational.
An Official helming the snow clearance in the region told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that snow clearance operations have been intensified, with major roads, including the Tangmarg-Gulmarg route, cleared of snow and now fully functional. “Snow clearance operations are in full swing on other link roads as well,” the official said.
The official added that water supply has remained uninterrupted, while power restoration efforts are progressing rapidly.
“Snowfall caused disruptions in several areas across the district. However, 80% of the 11KV feeders have been successfully restored, and teams are working tirelessly to achieve 100% restoration soon,” said the official.
Speaking to KNO, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Municipal Council Sopore, Dr. Showkat Ahmed, said that all the main roads in the town have been cleared, along with 90% of the link roads. "We are clearing bylanes manually, and wherever possible, machines are being deployed," he said.
